This is the horrifying moment police officers dragged a body from a river using a rope tied around the corpse’s neck.

Locals in Bihar, India, found the man dead near the Ganga river and reported the grim find to the authorities.

But when officers arrived, instead of waiting for an ambulance they tied a noose around his neck and dragged the body hundreds of metres to their vehicle .

In video of the dragging, a large crowd of shocked villagers can be seen watching the officers
dragging the body along the ground using the rope.

Two policemen have now been suspended over the incident which local media said puts “humanity to shame”.
